- Abstract
The article focuses on the concurrent Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) and human monocytic ehrlichiosis, which was documented for the first time in Florida. It notes that such diseases are both fatal whose pathogens are vectored through ticks, the Dermacentor variabilis and Amblyomma americanum. It also highlights the significance of timely diagnosis wherein mortality rate could be as high as 23% if treatment is delayed.
