The article reports on the first documented transmission of Zika virus through needlestick to a University of Pittsburgh laboratory worker in Pennsylvania. Topics discussed include the need for healthcare workers to remain vigilant to protect themselves against the virus, the recovery of this patient according to the Allegheny County Health Department, and the common symptoms of Zika such as fever, joint pain, and conjunctivitis.
