- Title
Freud and the Political.
- Authors
Dolar, Mladen
- Abstract
The article discusses Sigmund Freud as a psychoanalyst and not a man of politics. Several anecdotes on the aversion of Freud to politics include his hatred for Woodrow Wilson, his skepticism towards Bolshevism and his unexpected encounter with Vienna ruler, Herr Dr. Karl Lueger. Also noted are ways through which Freud has approached the political realm in terms of proposing a precept or a remedy for curing social ills and parts of his work showing him as a proponent of dictatorship and not of democracy.
