- Title
A history of Indigenous futures: accounting for Indigenous art and media.
- Authors
Ginsburg, Faye; Myers, Fred
- Abstract
The article addresses the flourishing of interventions by Indigenous artists and filmmakers into Australia's narrative of its history, over the last two decades. It examines the significance of this work in changing the cultural landscape of the continent. It also analyzes the paradox of the persistence, growth, and increasing circulation of such work in Indigenous cultural production, despite the alarming political turn against gains made by Indigenous Australians over the last decade, not only by right-wing politicians but also by intellectuals.
