Abstract
The article focuses on the mobile acoustic performance shell (MAPS) designed by architect and sound artist Paul Bavister together with Arup Acoustics. It states that MAPS is designed as an alternative for the ubiquitous music festival staging, which is a material construction of Sound Forms to naturally amplify and broadcast electroacoustic and acoustic performances. It also cites the acoustic experiments and hypotheses of medical diagnostician Arthur Lintgen and Athanius Kircher.
