- Abstract
The article discuses the Americans with Disabilities Act with reference to decisions issued by federal district courts in two cases alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the United States. In first case, the Professional Golfers Association of the Country was ordered to allow Casey Martin, a talented contender with a serious leg impairment, to use a golf cart in its championship tournaments, in contravention of its existing rules. In the second case Boston University was permitted to maintain its foreign language requirement without exceptions for learning-disabled students.
