- Title
Bug off, bat.
- Abstract
The article reports on a study which found out a sonar adaptation used by a tiger moth to protect itself from the big brown bats that prey on it. It notes how the study, which was led by graduate student Aaron Corcoran and biology professor William Conner of the Wake Forest University, investigated the ability of the tiger moths in making ultrasonic clicks that can jam the echolocation of the bats. Although the article emphasizes the need to research further on how the jamming works, it points out a significant implication in the predator-prey relationship.
