- Abstract
The article describes an outdoor laboratory activity called feeding the Diarmis proboscis which focuses on the student's knowledge about natural selection. In this activity, students act as a bird that will feed on worms which will be presented by toothpicks. The teacher scatters the toothpicks which consists of four different colors in an area outside the classroom. Students will pick up toothpicks within one minute and those who cannot pick up ten will be excluded. The students will then realize after the activity that toothpicks with the same color as the area it was scattered are the least picked up which explains the camouflage features in animals for them to survive.
