- Abstract
The article discusses the rearrangement of 1-aminoimidazolidine-4,5-triones to 5-oxo-4,5-dihydro-1, 2,4-triazole-3-carboxylic acid or acid 2a. It says that acid 2a, which is made up of 6-amino-2,3,4,5-tetrahydeo-1,2,4-triazine-3,5-dione, can be effectively used in the synthesis of novel 1,2,4-triazole derivatives like substances with a wide spectrum of biological activity. It also states that heating acid 2a to its melting point results to decarboxylation that gives 1,2,4-triazol-5-1.
