The article offers health care and marketing news briefs. A study conducted by the Sachs Group marks a shift in the way that medical staff planning is being carried out in U.S. hospitals. The number of group medical practices that have contracts with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) or Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) has increased since 1993. The journal "Physician's Managed Care Report" has published a special issue on cost cutting.
