- Abstract
The polyolefin elastomer/ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (POE/EPDM) blends were prepared by static and dynamic crosslinked processes. The effects of crosslinked methods on the crystallization behavior, mechanical properties and microstructure of the blends were studied. The results show that the crystallization ability of POE/EPDM static crosslinked blend has a decreasing trend. In POE/EPDM dynamic crosslinked blends, 10%~25% EPDM plays a nucleation role, resulting in POE crystallization at higher temperatures. The elongation at break and tensile strength of POE/EPDM dynamic crosslinked blends are higher than those of static crosslinked blends. In the dynamic crosslinked blend with 10% EPDM, the interface between EPDM and POE is better, and the tensile modulus and elongation at break of the dynamic crosslinked blend are higher. The dynamic crosslinked blend with 10% EPDM has no obvious phase separation structure, while the blend with 50% EPDM has obvious two-phase structure. When the mass ratio of POE to EPDM is 90∶10, the original POE crystal in the dynamic crosslinked blend is destroyed with SAXS in situ tensile strain. When the tensile strain is 75%, the crystal breakage reaches the maximum, and the new crystal is induced with 87.5%~262.5% tensile strain.
