- Abstract
Omura's whales are an evolutionarily distant relative of I B. edeni i subspp., whereas sei whales ( I B. borealis i ) are a sister clade to I B. edeni i (Rosel et al., 2021, fig. 2). Two of them have other common names that are place specific, but do not identify their full spatial distribution: bowhead whales are known as the Greenland whale, and Eden's whale is also called Sittang whale.
