- Abstract
In this article, the author is critical about training and supervision of medical trainees in presence of an obstetrician in labour ward of a tertiary obstetric hospital. Topics discussed include influence of consultant on acute situations such as shoulder dystocia, postpartum haemorrhage and cord prolapse; reduction of surgical training due to implementation of safe working hours and an increase in defensive investigations regarding ultrasound.
