- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of monopolistic methods. Regarding market control, the case Credit Bureau Reports, Inc. v. Retail Credit Co. et al. is discussed, in which Retail Credit Co.'s control of the life insurance-reporting market was deemed a violation of both the Clayton Act and the Sherman Act. Regarding collusive practices, the case Pearl Brewing Co. v. Anheuser-Busch, Inc. is discussed, involving allegations of price fixing under the Sherman Act. Regarding market exclusion tactics, the case Bywater v. Matshushita Electric Industry Co., Ltd. is discussed, alleging antitrust violations.
