- Abstract
The article presents information about the wholesale lumber trade in the United States. A discussion is presented about the history and size of the U.S. timber trade, which produces and distribute 35 billion feet of lumber annually. The need for wholesalers that distribute between 60-70 percent of lumber produced is mentioned. Details related to purchasing methods, transportation, and the environmental effects of a large timber trade are presented. The author stresses the continued need for dependable lumber distributors.
