- Abstract
The article discusses the crisis surrounding the legislation, 1765 Stamp Act, in Great Britain. Topics discussed include North American colonies in the mid-eighteenth century who were famous as the land that had grown rich without hard money, the demand for silver and the belief by British Minister George Grenville and his aides that demanding Sterling Money could make paying taxes and fees a matter of terror and punishment for American colonists.
