- Title
RADIO POLITICS, ORIGIN MYTHS, AND THE CREATION OF NEW EVANGELICALISM.
- Authors
Matzko, Paul
- Abstract
The article examines the establishment of American religious organization National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and specifically a revisionist interpretation of the founding that highlights the value of early radio broadcasting sector politics. NAE was reportedly established in 1943 by several people who chose the word evangelical to represent a way between liberal modernism and militant fundamentalism. Also discussed are members' motivations to join NAE and the history of evangelicalism.
