- Abstract
This article discusses the issue of ethical misconduct in research, specifically focusing on the conduct of editors and reviewers in the peer review process. The authors highlight various situations where editors and reviewers may engage in questionable behavior that compromises academic integrity. These include editorial bias, interpersonal biases and conflicts, power imbalances, questionable peer-review practices, inadequate communication, and neglect of journal guidelines. The authors call for further research and the development of a global code of conduct to address these ethical challenges and ensure transparent and accountable editorial behavior in the field of Information Systems.
