- Abstract
The article discusses how "spin-offs" will become the source for the technological innovations in industry. Spin-offs are considered the creation of industrial products and product lines based on U.S. government-funded research and development (R&D). The U.S. State Technical Services Act (STSA) and the services it supplies to private industry are explored. The fields of hydraulics and cryogenics are presented as examples of useful government technologies that are adaptable to a wide variety of uses.
