- Abstract
The article discusses the lightning hotspots for the planet Earth. It references the 16-year study on lightning hotspots revealed through observations in very high-resolution lightning climatology using space-based Lightning Imaging Sensor. The prototype lightning sensor instrument Optical Transient Detector (OTD) was launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
