- Abstract
An interview with artist John Gerrard is presented who is known for his sculptures which take the form of digital simulations displayed with the help of real-time computer graphics. He talks about his digitally rendered simulation, Exercise (Djibouti), 2012 which was inspired by images of a military training exercise in Djibouti, Africa. He discusses his photographs and the story behind them including the usage of smoke and three-dimensional scans of actual things in his simulations.
