The author reflects and describes his journey as a Japanese instructor at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) and his experience of being a foreign instructor in the American classroom. He relates the difficulties he encountered due to the students' attitudes, statements, and behaviors. He relates lessons learned from teaching a different cultural group. He cites the need of foreign teachers to adjust their expectations and attitudes in teaching other cultural group.
