- Abstract
The article discusses legal issues regarding the coverage of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and the jurisdiction of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to college and university student assistants, religious universities, independent contractors, and charter schools. Other topics include the potential conflict between the board's exercise of jurisdiction with the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution's Religion Clauses, and the 1947 Taft-Harley amendments to the NLRA.
