- Abstract
The article analyzes the African-Brazilian science fiction "A Mulher de Aleduma" by Aline França. The book reportedly demonstrates the marginalization of science fiction and of women's writing in Brazil. It highlights the depiction of African female sexuality and spirituality in the combination of science fiction and mythology in the book. Also noted is the discourse in the novel that opposes Brazilian nationalist narratives and ideological constructions.
