- Abstract
In order to improve durable ultraviolet (UV) resistance of the cotton knitted fabric, nano-TiO2 sol and nano-SO2 sol were prepared by sol-gel method using N-tetrabutyl titanate, and Ethyl orthosilicate as precursor separately. Nano-Ti02 sol and nano-Si02 sol are arranged in a volume ratio of 2 : 1 to nano-Ti02/SiO2 composite sol, the cotton knitted fabrics were treated by anti-ultraviolet finishing. The UV transmittance of the fabric before and after finishing was tested by CARY50 UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The durability of the finishing effect was tested by JIS washing method, and the properties of whiteness and bursting strength before and after finishing of the fabrics were tested and analyzed. The results show that the cotton woven fabrics with composite sol finishing have better anti-ultraviolet effect and good UV resistance after 30 times of washing. After finishing, the comfortability of cotton knitted fabrics changes little, basically maintaining the original style and features of fabrics.
