- Title
The Matrix as Sacred Canopy: Teaching Theory in Religion.
- Authors
Wellman, James K.; Richter, Charles
- Abstract
The article focuses on using the "Matrix" movie trilogy to teach theory in religion in an undergraduate course at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. The authors describe the texts used in the course alongside the movies, how the trilogy was used to further discussion and understanding of theory, as well as arguing that theory is a form of critical thinking that should be used to provoke questions, not the right answers.
