Title

Lyme Disease Evaluation and Treatment.

Authors

Hoover, Todd A.

Abstract

The initial, secondary and tertiary stages of Lyme Disease are described, and treatment options, both allopathic and homeopathic, discussed. The author argues for the timely use of antibiotics in the very early stages of Lyme, contending that the risk of suppressive consequences from antibiotic use are minimal to nil and thus of far less concern than the potentially devastating consequences of allowing the spirochete, unrestrained by appropriate antibiotic control, the opportunity to later induce secondary and tertiary stages of the disease. The discussion continues with the author's own designation of different stages of Lyme Disease - acute, chronic, never-well-since, and "not Lyme Disease" (patients whose symptoms mimic the disorder and their treatment. Case examples are provided.
