- Abstract
The article titled "Genes‐to‐Pathways Species Conservation Analysis: Enabling the Exploration of Conservation of Biological Pathways and Processes Across Species" introduces the Genes‐to‐Pathways Species Conservation Analysis (G2P‐SCAN), a new R package that integrates computational biology approaches into safety assessments. G2P‐SCAN allows for the analysis of the conservation of biological processes across different species by integrating data from multiple databases and focusing on gene orthologs, protein families, entities, and reactions. The paper highlights the potential of G2P‐SCAN to improve the accessibility and synthesis of genomic data, supporting the reduction of animal testing and promoting the use of computational and cell-based approaches in safety assessments.
