The article reports on the tree diversity project in Eastern North America. The loss caused by Dutch elm disease in trees encouraged the development of a more sustainable and diversified urban forest. This urban forest is expected not to be decimated by an insect pest. However, deadly borers could result to disastrous consequences for urban forests.
