- Title
West Coast Conservation.
- Abstract
The article reports that the Marine Conservation Biology Institute and the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) have identified 28 priority conservation areas in the North America. Countries like Canada, U.S. and Mexico have been working to conserve the biodiversity along their coastal areas. The CEC, however, pointed out that marine activities in one country can directly affect the shared ecosystem and species. Species such as leatherback sea turtles, bluefin tuna, Pacific gray and blue whales, and Heermann's gulls depend their survival on the protection of the governments of all three countries.
