- Abstract
This essay examines the Voudoun symbolism in Edwidge Danticat's book "The Farming of Bones," which depicts the massacre of Haitian migrant farm workers in the Dominican Republic under the regime of General Rafael Trujillo. Use of parsley as both linguistic and cultural marker; Influence of the Voudoun religion on the culture of the Haitian peasant folk; Factors that influenced the author to omit any narrative mention of Voudoun.
