- Abstract
The article provides an analysis on the gamma decay heat redistribution in a loss of fluid test (LOFT) reactor and 1000 megawatts (MWe) pressurized water reactor (PWR). The gamma decay heat redistribution of the reactors was assessed with the use of a Monte Carlo MCNP5 computer code. It was found that an average energy reduction of 0.82 was found to be effective in measuring decay up to 120 centimetres of midheight width of the produced energy peak.
