Abstract
An interview with researcher Oren Raz from Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel is presented. When asked on his idea on catastrophe theory, he defines it as a powerful mathematical tool that is used in many areas of physics and mathematics. Raz says that the original idea for the catastrophe theory came from the study of Airy beams. He shares his plans in which he wants to investigate the idea of using caustics to supply both spectral and spatial focusing.
