- Title
Frequency combs: Combs for dark energy.
- Authors
Schibli, Thomas R.
- Abstract
This article discusses research, published in "Science" in 2008, into the development of stabilization mechanisms for astronomical spectrometers that rely on laser frequency combs. When these mechanisms are synchronized with an atomic clock they increase the degree of accuracy in astronomical spectrometers by providing a frequency ruler. The use of these devices to accurately test the expanding universe theory in astrophysics is noted..
