ECT Patients Report Memory Loss.
- Abstract
This article deals with the study conducted by the "British Medical Journal" (BMJ) on patient satisfaction with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Persistent memory loss was found by the study on some of its study subjects. The findings of the study is in conflict with the statement issued by the Royal College of Psychiatrists regarding patient satisfaction with ECT. The BMJ study has implication for the controversy surrounding the treatment.
