The article explores the provisions for refugees under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Topics discussed include history of gang violence and government corruption; use of statute governing asylum claims in order to prevent gang forced recruitment, and the efforts of the U.S. Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) for analysis of asylum applications of individuals seeking to establish a particular social group.
