- Authors
Tincheva, Nelly
- Abstract
The article discusses the role that the conceptual metaphor played in Bulgarian political discourse from 1980 through the early 2010s. The article often references the cognitive linguist George Lakoff, including his perspective on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory and how metaphorical structures construct knowledge. An overview of the use of the human body as a metaphor in politics, including as a metaphor for the state, is discussed.
