- Abstract
The article explores the impact of automation on job insecurity and turnover intentions in the hospitality industry. It emphasizes that the increased use of automation, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to concerns among employees about the potential obsolescence of their jobs. The study reveals that resistance to change is directly linked to job insecurity when automation is implemented. It also finds that occupational commitment plays a mediating role between automation-related job insecurity and employees' intentions to leave their jobs. The findings underscore the importance for hospitality firms to address their employees' anxieties about job automation.
