- Abstract
The article details the debate held by the editorial board of the "Academic Emergency Medicine" (AEM) regarding pharmaceutical and medical device advertisements. The board tackled the advantages and disadvantages of printing pharmaceutical and medical device advertisements. They also analyzed how such practice could affect the journal's mission and integrity. The board concluded that academia and industry have a commensal relationship, therefore pharmaceutical advertising will be permitted in the journal.
