- Title
Community Peace Recovery and Reconciliation in Filipino Indigenous Communities.
- Authors
Rahman, Mizanur
- Abstract
The author comments on the elimination from the school curriculum of specific lessons in Mexican-American studies in Tucson, Arizona. She notes the arguments of school district officials that these lessons cause rift between school children, further dividing different ethnicities and causing an anti-U.S. campaign. She cites a list of books banned by lawmakers from the curriculum. She argues that this change signifies the desire of elite U.S. wanting to disguise embarrassing issues of the past.
