- Title
OF "PURPOSES NOT PROHIBITED": NEW FEDERAL RULE OF EVIDENCE 408(B).
- Authors
Collins, Gregory B.; Halaby, Andrew F.
- Abstract
The article discusses how courts generally have applied the "another purpose" clause that is embodied in the "Permissible Uses" provision of Federal Rule of Evidence 408(b) in the U.S. It suggests that if properly applied, an expansive genus of compromise evidence must qualify for admission under Rule 408(b). In addition, it also describes how Rule 408(b) might be applied in different contexts to identify several species within that genus.
