- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the molecular behavior of heterochromatin protein 1 alpha (HP1α) during the cell cycle by performing time-lapse imaging of HP1α through two successive cell divisions in mouse C3H10T1/2 cells. The study shows that HP1α forms heterochromatin dots in early phase, and HP1α dots start to diffuse into the nucleoplasm and flicker with a rhythmical cycle in the second phase and uniformly diffuse throughout the nucleus in the fourth phase.
