This article presents the author's recollections of the poet Allen Ginsberg. Ginsberg made peace with his impending death, but his loss left a hole in the political and literary world. The author first read "Howl" in high school. The article recalls Ginsberg's role in the anti-war movement and how the poet was much loved but banned from Czechoslovakia and Cuba.
