- Title
To be or not to be a pervious thrombus in acute ischemic stroke: does functional outcome after mechanical thrombectomy depend on clot time-attenuation curves?

- Abstract
This document discusses a study published in European Radiology that explores the association between thrombus characteristics and functional outcome after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in acute ischemic stroke patients. The study focuses on the use of CT perfusion (CTP) imaging to analyze the time-attenuation curves (TAC) of thrombi. The researchers identified two patterns of TACs, and found that patients with a specific pattern had higher rates of poor functional outcome. The study adds to the existing literature on the association between clot characteristics and treatment outcomes, but further research is needed to fully understand this relationship.
