- Title
Commentary: considering radiomics in the setting of prostate cancer active surveillance.
- Authors
Gaur, Sonia
- Abstract
Additionally, the prediction of progression was based on validation from MRI-targeted biopsies only, and the included patients had no new MRI-visible lesions. This is an important limitation to consider, as realistically, active surveillance patients will likely have new MRI-visible lesions that arise on follow-up but may not be captured by this existing lesion-based time series radiomics model. The authors' major result is that their model combining time series MRI-derived radiomics and time series PSA density outperformed the delta radiomics and delta PSA density approach in prediction of prostate cancer progression.
