The article analyzes analyzes the medieval poem "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." Discussion of Arthurian characters is offered, and the incorporation of history, archetypal symbol and myth in the poem is explored. Views on the prevalence of Christianity and the concept of chivalric romance during the 12th century are also presented.
