- Abstract
Although the mapping accuracy should be further assessed, this study would provide a convenient way in abdominal and other organ regions to correct the ADC biases that could be caused by gradient field nonlinearity and other nonideal conditions such as higher-order eddy currents. Magnetic field gradients are essential in MRI for spatial encoding and for advanced MRI techniques such as angiography, perfusion, and diffusion imaging. In the work of Ma et al,[1] an empirical but relatively easy-performed procedure was introduced to correct the bias in apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) measurements due to the nonlinearity of magnetic field gradients.
