- Abstract
Introduction: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) presents itself as an autoimmune, chronic and inflammatory pathology that affects the lives of its carriers in various scenarios, and when not cared for can result in a context of hospitalization to the patient. Upon finding the daily life in hospital environment, this article presents an account of experience based on the practice of Occupational Therapy. Objective: To analyze how hospitalization of women with lupus interferes with their daily life. Method: Experience report from the practice of the Occupational Therapy internship at the State University of Pará in partnership with a large hospital in the city of Belém do Pará. Different forms of intervention with the target audience were used. Results: It was possible to verify, in a good number of cases, little specific information about the pathology, being offered, then, besides interventions, information and guidelines related to the forms of daily manifestation and management of the disease; also, it was perceived how the pathology affected the self-esteem, self-image, mood and performance of the patients by the very weathering of the hospitalization process. Conclusion: one can understand the impact caused by Lupus and the very process of hospitalization in the daily life of these women.
