- Abstract
The article discusses methods of apparel marketing. One approach concerning market segmentation is highlighted. A U.S. women's apparel company employed successful life-style market segmentation techniques in its marketing effort for brassieres. This branded apparel needed a combination of fashion, style criteria satisfaction and physical needs satisfaction. Certain basic social/cultural/personal patterns are relevant to the application of marketing for apparel. Consumer advertising and sales promotions are developed to take advantage of life-style and product preferences pertaining to target markets.
