- Abstract
Alutamine (Gln), also known as α -aminovaleramic acid and glutamine-5-amide, is a nonessential amino acid that plays an important role in the body. So it is considered a functional amino acid, which is usually used as alanyl-glutamine (Ala-Gln) form as an additive in feed. Gln and Ala-Gln can not only promote the growth of livestock, poultry and aquatic animals, improve the antioxidant and immune ability of the body, maintain intestinal health, but also play an important role in alleviating immune stress. In this paper, the effects of Gln and Ala-Gln added to feed on animals were discussed, and the mechanism of their action in alleviating immune stress was expounded, which provided a theoretical basis for the application of Gln and Ala-Gln as feed additives, and also provided a reference for further research on the mechanism of alleviating immune stress.
